About this issue

The summer has been very exciting and there has been a very busy HUB social calendar.  In particular the Saffron Walden Carnival was outstanding, once again, and we congratulate the Saffron Walden Round Table on another sterling effort. Whilst on the subject of Carnival: if you ever wondered how to put a float together well take a look at how the winners of Best Float 2011 did it.

For this issue we were lucky enough to receive an invitation to Jamie Oliver’s country pad, to meet the main man, and you can read our exclusive interview with him.  Check out our band update where we catch up with HUB favourite, To Kill A King, and the great, local, Supercasino, to see what the guys have been up to over the past few months. Using our local contacts we have also been fortunate enough to interview JLS on their life in the spotlight.

Yes its Christmas time!  We love this time of the year as it promises a family get-together, and snow, what a treat! If we do get some of the white stuff in the next few months then we would love you to send some snowy pictures of Saffron Walden for us to print in the next issue.

Please remember that this can be a very cold and lonely time for some and we would urge you to keep a weather eye on any elderly neighbours. They may need help with shopping or even a hot meal every so often. Let’s keep the wonderful community spirit of our lovely town alive.
